Anyone who has read William Shirer's accounts of life in Nazi Berlin in the years prior to WWII will no doubt note the parallels between then, and today's illegal wiretapping, abrogation of Constitutional Rights, illegal detainment, etc.

I got to thinking... what if Hitler had won the war? Would we better off, or worse? Would there be any noticeable differece?

When he was first elected (ahem!) I had the impression that he was stupid. Later, as his maleasance became clearer to the world at large, I modified my opinion to the belief that he was stupid and evil.

As time has passed, I've had to change that opinion yet again - I now consider him to be very intelligent, and very evil.

But that's neither here nor there. On a completely different subject, here are some random images from history, the media, and other sources. I thought you might as well enjoy these, since you're here already.

Oh - one more thing... if I woke up every day with the sole intention of heaping ever more indignity upon the country I lived in whilst aggrandizing my own power, I'd have a pretty clear idea as to what steps I'd have to take to make myself right with history and God. It remains a bright point in my life that I recognize the fact that people can learn, and change.

Hell, who gives a damn about the poll numbers when you're firmly in charge?

"We don't need no steenking poll numbers! If they don't like me, we'll imprison them!"

One of my favotite espisodes of Star Trek is "The Changeling", where Captain Kirk must use his intelligence, cunning, and inescapable logic to defend the lives of his command. Where is Kirk when we need him?

"Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" - I believe this must be my favorite musical. Howard Keel in what [IMHO] was his best role ever - one of the most impressive acting/singing performances I have ever seen. This scene, where he and his brothers have been banished from the house after kidnapping the girls, shows Keel (as Adam Pontipee) instructing his siblings on the evil afoot in Washington DC, and what's really happening:

"Oh, yes! Those approvals were fallin', fallin' fallin' like a low tide

And the public was callin', callin', for his Weaselly hide..."

Why, thank you, Mister President!! Nice to know you have America's best interests at heart!
